What GravelScope does
GravelScope estimates the volume, weight, bag count and optional material cost for common gravel projects. You enter the project dimensions and depth, choose a material density, and the calculation runs directly in your browser.
The goal is to give homeowners, landscapers and DIY users a clear planning estimate before they contact a supplier or contractor.
How the estimates are calculated
Project volume is calculated from area multiplied by depth. The selected extra allowance is then added to the volume. Estimated weight is calculated from adjusted volume multiplied by bulk density.
Bulk density is the largest source of uncertainty because real gravel can vary with stone size, grading, moisture and compaction. The preset values are planning estimates only. If your supplier provides a density or conversion factor for the exact product, use that instead.

We aim to keep the calculator fast, transparent and useful. Important assumptions are shown beside the result rather than hidden behind a single number. GravelScope does not replace site-specific engineering, supplier advice or contractor judgment.
